Event title: Industrial Technology Regional Roadshow, Queensland

Event series 1: Mount Isa, Townsville, Gladstone - August 2005
Event series 2: Gladstone, Mackay, Townsville, Mount Isa - March 2007
Event series 3: Gladstone, Mackay, Townsville, Mount Isa - September 2008
Description: Westwick-Farrow Publishing's Queensland roadshow brings together magazine advertisers (industrial technology suppliers) with key decision makers at the mining "coalface" in a series of seminars and exhibitions. Growing the roadshow to reach four cities and cover 4,000km in one week meant the need for chartering aircraft to synchronise with road freight arrival.
 

Top 3 successful outcomes:

  1. Sponsors built sales relationships with key decision makers who were not reachable through traditional marketing or capital city events.
  2. The number of sponsors and delegates is constantly growing as the momentum of the roadshow builds.
  3. For sponsors, the roadshow format assisted with lead sourcing and management and facilitated industry networking in these hard-to-reach areas.

Description: Westwick-Farrow Publishing commissioned Action Brands to manage the roadshow throughout Western Australia, with the success based on our ability to ensure a smooth running show, on time every time. With strong relationships now established with delegates and sponsors, the return of the Roadshow is now keenly awaited in Western Australia.
 

Top 3 successful outcomes:

  1. Representatives from sponsor companies were able to reach larger numbers of sales leads than if they had tried to make contact with them via their own sales cycle.
  2. Sponsors comment on the consistent quality of delegates who attend the events.
  3. After the first series, the roadshow was refined to visit the areas which produced the best results for sponsors.


Event title: Industrial Technology Regional Roadshow, South Australia

Series 1: Roxby Downs, Whyalla, Port Augusta, Mount Gambier - September 2006
Series 2: Roxby Downs, Elizabeth, Whyalla, Mount Gambier - April 2008
Description: We took Westwick-Farrow Publishing's successful roadshow formula to key mining areas in South Australia which are otherwise difficult to reach with traditional marketing.

Top 3 successful outcomes:

  1. Sponsor companies were able to demonstrate complex technology to their target market in person.
  2. Based on sponsor feedback we included the Playford/Elizabeth region in our second series which was met with positive delegate attendance.
  3. Target markets in these areas can be difficult to reach via traditional marketing and these events gave sponsors the best opportunity to reach them.


Event title: Powder Handling & Processing Conference

Location: TelstraDome Melbourne

Date: 25 June 2008

Description: A one day conference for powder handling and processing professionals which comprised training, dual stream presentations, case studies and a targeted trade exhibition.

Top 3 successful outcomes:

  1. A dedicated conference is now established for this industry sector
  2. Trade exhibitors were connected with key industry decision makers
  3. Trade exhibitors were able to demonstrate highly focused industry-specific technology in a relevant forum


Event title: Radio Comms Connect 07

Location: Melbourne Exhibition & Convention Centre

Date: November 2007

Description: A one day industry conference incorporating a full day seminar program and exhibition to coincide with a key industry gala awards night.

Top 3 successful outcomes:

  1. A dedicated conference was established for this industry sector
  2. Exhibitors were able to reach numerous key decision makers from their target market in one day

Event title:  Radio Comms Connect 08

Location: TelstraDome, Melbourne

Date: 18 & 19 November 2008

Description: Following the success of the inaugural Radio Comms event in 2007, a second one grew to a two day conference with dual stream seminar program and exhibition.

Event title: Storage Decisions Australia 09

Location: The Westin, Sydney

Date: April 2009

Description: A one day conference for IT professionals with seminar program featuring international guest speakers in a dual stream program and a trade show style exhibition.

Top 3 successful outcomes:

  1. The first time a conference for this industry sector was held in Australia and demand now created for future events of its type
  2. The Action Brands telemarketing program was instrumental in raising delegate attendance
  3. Exhibitors had the opportunity to meet and build relationships with their target market - highly specialised data storage professionals


Event title: Party in the Park 08

Location: Tuggerah Business Park

Date: 5 December 2008

Description: A Christmas event for over 300 business people and their families which raised $13,600 for Cystic Fibrosis Australia. Entertainment included live music, slot car racing, Santa's arrival, jumping castle and a charity auction.

Top 3 successful outcomes:

  1. $13,600 raised for Cystic Fibrosis Australia
  2. Facilitated business community networking
  3. Provided an opportunity for business park tenants to celebrate the festive season while sampling local food, wine and enjoying family-friendly entertainment.

Event title: ATUG National Broadband Roadshow

Location: 21 regional centres throughout Australia

Date: March to October 2004
Description: An initiative of the Australian Telecommunications Users Group (ATUG) to increase awareness of fast internet options for businesses in regional areas to migrate from dial-up to broadband. Each event comprised seminars, local case studies and an expo with 12 exhibitors.

Top 3 successful outcomes:

  1. Sponsors/exhibitors made connections with business communities around Australia
  2. Business people in regional areas found solutions to their internet access problems via government initiatives, private suppliers and local mentors
  3. The profile of ATUG was raised via one-to-one communication with consumers and technology providers
